With fathers day 2010 coming up fast its time to consider what kind of gift dad would appreciate most. Allow me to give you some ideas of things he doesn’t want: a tie, yet another “#1 Dad” mug, an AARP membership.

I can also tell you what he does want: Books. Not just one book but thousands of them. Your dad sounds awfully demanding. But this is one time where you won’t be asking yourself if dad is getting senile. Thanks to a handful of companies that allow you to rent books online, you can give Dad the ability to read an unlimited number of books.

Of the companies that I’ve reviewed, I would recommend Book Swim for a gift membership for your dad. Book Swim is probably the most user friendly in terms of buying a gift membership for someone. Some of the other companies put a heavier focus on college textbooks so they wouldn’t be a good fit for most dads.

There’s very little time left until Fathers Day 2010 so make your choice of gift a good one. Remember, more than any gift you could buy, sometimes the best gift is just spending time with dad. But being able to rent books online is pretty cool too!
